Discover Green Point Vegan Restaurant

Tucked away at Carmen Bajo 235, Cusco 08003, Peru, Green Point Vegan Restaurant is one of those places you stumble upon and then can’t stop talking about. The cobblestone streets of San Blas already feel magical, but stepping through the doors here adds another layer to the experience. I first visited after a long morning exploring Cusco’s historic center, and honestly, I expected a simple plant-based lunch. What I got instead was a carefully curated vegan dining experience that rivals some of the best restaurants I’ve tried in South America.

The menu is surprisingly diverse. From vibrant smoothie bowls and cold-pressed juices to hearty Andean-inspired mains, everything feels intentional. I ordered a quinoa-crusted avocado starter followed by their signature lomo saltado made entirely with plant-based ingredients. The flavors were layered and bold, yet balanced. It wasn’t just about replacing meat; it was about reimagining Peruvian classics in a creative, sustainable way. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, plant-based diets can significantly reduce environmental impact compared to meat-heavy diets. Dining here, you actually taste that philosophy in action.

What stands out most is the attention to detail. The kitchen clearly understands nutrition as well as flavor. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has stated that well-planned vegan diets are appropriate for all stages of life, and this restaurant seems to embody that research. Each plate offers protein-rich legumes, whole grains like quinoa and amaranth, and colorful vegetables packed with antioxidants. You don’t leave feeling deprived-you leave feeling energized.

During my second visit, I joined one of their tasting menu evenings. The process was thoughtful: dishes were presented course by course, with explanations about sourcing and preparation. For example, they explained how they soak and sprout certain seeds to enhance digestibility and nutrient absorption. That level of transparency builds trust. It’s clear the team cares about both culinary artistry and health science. Reviews from travelers often highlight the same consistency in quality, and after multiple visits, I can confirm it’s not just hype.

The ambiance deserves a mention too. Think warm lighting, rustic wooden tables, indoor greenery, and a relaxed yet polished vibe. It feels intimate without being cramped. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple on a date, or a group of friends, the space adapts effortlessly. Plus, the staff are genuinely knowledgeable. When I asked about gluten-free options, they didn’t hesitate-they walked me through the menu, explaining cross-contamination precautions and ingredient substitutions.

Cusco’s altitude can affect appetite and digestion, and lighter plant-based meals often feel easier to handle. I’ve noticed that after eating here, I had more energy for hiking and sightseeing compared to heavier meals elsewhere. That’s not just personal preference. Research published by institutions like Harvard Medical School suggests diets rich in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains support better cardiovascular health and sustained energy levels. While this isn’t a medical claim, the practical experience lines up with the science.

Another detail that adds to the restaurant’s credibility is its commitment to sustainability. They emphasize local sourcing whenever possible, supporting regional farmers and reducing food miles. In a city that sees heavy tourism, that kind of responsibility matters. It aligns with global sustainable dining trends recognized by organizations such as the World Resources Institute, which advocates for plant-forward food systems.

Of course, no place is perfect. On busy evenings, especially during peak tourist season, you may need a reservation. Service can slow slightly when the dining room is full. Still, the team handles the rush professionally, and the food consistently arrives beautifully plated and fresh.

If you’re browsing restaurant reviews in Cusco and looking for a vegan restaurant that combines flavor, nutrition, and atmosphere, this spot easily rises to the top. From creative Andean fusion dishes to nutrient-dense superfood bowls and indulgent dairy-free desserts, the menu proves that plant-based cuisine can be both sophisticated and satisfying. The location in San Blas adds charm, and the steady stream of positive reviews reflects a dining experience built on quality, knowledge, and genuine passion.

  • Absolutely incredible. Came here three times during my stay in Cusco!! Delicious food, kind and attentive service, amazing location and garden, fair prices. Super great communication around my peanut allergy and waiters easy to chat with in English and Spanish. Wifi and clean washrooms. Loved it so much!

  • We went here twice during our stay in Cusco! We tried both the breakfast and lunch here. I’d recommend the kombucha sampler since there were so many tasty kombuchas to try. The lime cider was also interesting! I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. For food, I liked the sushi, sweet potato dish, avocado toast, and hash browns! For dessert you have to get the vegan tiramisu! The crepe was also fun! The vegan chocolate mousse cake was great too if you also like strawberry.

  • Bakery treats in the front display were outstanding! Had lunch already at govindas but was lured by a cryspy chocolate croissant with coffee. Then came back to try the chocolate truffles and mushroom empanadas. Was worried about the high salt content mentioned by other reviewers (in happy cow) but had no issue with this in the empanadas. Pros: Great atmosphere, Top vegan croissant, Beautiful garden

  • This is my highly light of Cusco, came here twice and could have a third time if I had a larger stomach. The food is amazing and the staff the super helpful suggesting local veganised dishes. Really recommend ordering UMAMI TIRADITO WITH CITRUS-CURED HONGO MADRE. If I could take this restaurant to Australia It would be extremely successful.

  • Absolutely outstanding food from start to finish. Portions are very generous, so order accordingly. The pad Thai was the best we’ve ever had exceptional flavor and perfectly balanced. Every dish we ordered was excellent. The vegan chocolate cake deserves a special mention; it’s hands down the best vegan dessert I’ve ever had and an absolute must-try. Add to that a great vibe and atmosphere, and this place truly stands out.

  • We had such an amazing experience here! The staff are exceptionally friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The food is absolutely delicious — every dish was full of rich, multidimensional flavors and beautifully plated. My personal favorite was the sourdough pizza. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal, with modern music playing in the background and lots of greenery and basket lights that create a gorgeous Boho-style vibe. Everything about this place feels thoughtful and inviting. I loved the food so much that I know I’ll be craving it until I can come back again!
